http://www.jiscinfonet.ac.uk/Resources/external-resources/No%20Significant%20Difference The No Significant Difference site where Tom Russell of the North Carolina State University has compiled a large bibliography of research that demonstrates that sometimes there is no significant difference when you use technology you use for learning, and sometimes there is! Seriously though, although not all the material is strictly "MLE" these are invaluable resources. |

Strategic and Pedagogic Requirements for Virtual Learning in the Context of Widening Participation http://www.jiscinfonet.ac.uk/Resources/external-resources/Strategic%20and%20Pedagogic%20Requirements By Stiles, M.J., A quote: "In the use of VLEs in most institutions there is a clear focus on the conversion of traditional lecture programmes, emphasising the distribution of materials followed by assignments and tests (Maher et al, 2001), with pedagogy remaining based largely on the traditional (Birchall et al, 2002, Littlejohn 2002)." |

http://www.jiscinfonet.ac.uk/Resources/external-resources/CAA%20Centre The CAA Centre (a TLTP 3 project) although now finished, this has produced a number of useful resources. Sadly the most valuable, the "Blueprint for Computer-assisted Assessment" by Joanna Bull and Colleen McKenna is no longer available on-line, but a revised version is due to be published by RoutledgeFalmer in September 2003 |

Teaching, Learning and Technology Group (TLT Group) http://www.jiscinfonet.ac.uk/Resources/external-resources/AAHETLT The Teaching, Learning and Technology Group (TLT Group) is a not-for-profit that supports about 130 institutions of higher education around the world. The TLT Group's mission is to help educators improve teaching and learning using available technology; it does this by providing training, resources, tools, consulting, and other services. The TLT Group is distinctive because, rather than focusing on technology per se, its services support improvements in professional development; productive feedback (assessment, evaluation), collaboration across boundaries, and planning. For example, its materials on the 'seven principles of good practice in undergraduate education' are widely used in professional development. The TLT Group puts special stress on teaching and organizational innovations that are easy to adopt, and on incremental, long-term strategies for dealing with stubborn problems. The TLT Group is especially well-known for the work of its Flashlight Program on evaluation and assessment. |
