| Key resources for other issues for why might you want an MLE |

| There are three key resources which are recommended as follow-up reading to this discussion. These are: 1. E. Mumford's Designing Human Systems for New Technology - The ETHICS Method (1983). Chapter One of this book is worth looking at, as it sets down some guiding principles which will assist in facilitating change. 2. Boys (August, 2002). In Appendix 3 Boys raises further issues based on the findings of the 7/99 projects. A read through this analysis is highly recommended. 3. The ‘Changing Technological Management’ Project, Sheffield Hallam University looked at how technological change is integrated with teaching and learning. |

Learning Lessons from MLE Development projects http://www.jiscinfonet.ac.uk/Resources/external-resources/ACF681.doc This study reviews progress in Managed Learning Environment development across the 7/99 JCIEL-funded Building MLEs in HE projects, so as to begin to summarise what lessons can be learnt. It aims to identify and evaluate generic themes, in support of the programme’s aims and objectives, and to propose appropriate additional studies, models, resources and support. |
