Description The Online Tutoring E-Book is a guidance manual designed to assist lectures make the shift from more traditional forms of teaching and learning to online learning. The book consists of nine chapters covering topics such as, learning online and the various strategies available for delivery of electronic learning, models of learning and learning styles. The tutor's role in online learning is given a chapter as well as chapters considering building online learning communities, new assessment methods, culture and ethics, institutional support, staff development, quality assurance, copyright and evaluation. At the end of each chapter there is a relevant and useful resource section referencing articles used in the body of the chapter and links to useful case studies. The chapter concerning evaluation of online learning covers the following themes, what is evaluation, theoretical frameworks, practical issues and implications, what to evaluate and why, how to take forward the findings of an evaluation.
