This management report from the "Towards an Integrated Student Record" project at Ravensbourne College describes the main activities of the project, i.e. developing: a TISR application - a Java application that combines information from a variety of data stores and caches the result in an LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) server; a TISR object - an object oriented model of a student which can be represented on an LDAP server and can be mapped to the IMS enterprise “person” specification; and a Web application which enables staff and students to view the data online. Section 4 describes the lessons learned in the project.
