This Study was commissioned by the JISC and UCISA in August 2002 from a
consortium of research organisations led by the Social Informatics Research Unit at
the University of Brighton. The Study was intended to identify and analyse the current
picture in UK Further and Higher Education (FE and HE) institutions with regard to
issues of integration of business processes, services and systems in support of
learning and teaching. The research work was completed in June 2003. This report to
the JISC Committee for Learning and Teaching (JCLT) is the key outcome of the study.
