About the service

Jisc infoNet aims to enable organisations to operate effectively, get best value for money and deliver an excellent student experience.

We are probably best known for ‘infoKits’, a simple ‘what-why-how’ model through which our online resources are structured and interconnect, helping bridge gaps that may not always be obvious. They maximise the reach and use of Jisc outputs in the context of the wider sector – such as the strategies, concerns and priorities of other sector bodies.

We work with the sector in reviewing and field-testing the materials, adding knowledge to the range and helping make them truly ‘for the sector, by the sector’. Through engagement with organisations and individuals, we optimise the value and creative use of our resources, as well as through our growing facilitation work directly with providers. We encourage colleges, universities and other providers to share experience – for example through the collaborative CAMEL model we pioneered in conjunction with ALT and the Higher Education Academy, now widely used.

The service also covers specialist expertise such as the information and records management domain, where it undertakes high-profile work, and which currently includes making sense of and enhancing a range of measurement tools already available.

Jisc infoNet comprises a dedicated, enthusiastic and creative team, who have a true service ethos in the sense of a ‘can do’, helpful approach and who strive for continuous improvement.
