Enabling effective business and community engagement through the use of technology
Collaborative Online Tools
Collaboration is at the heart of Business and Community Engagement (BCE), manifest in three dimensions: within institutions (across disciplines and functions), across institutions, and between institutions and external partners.
Embedding BCE
...Through Business Process Improvement and Internal Engagement was a project commissioned to investigate the integration of BCE functions within further and higher education institutions.
Knowledge Transfer 2.0
This resource integrates current innovation theory, modern social media tools and current thinking on market behaviour or motivation, to provide a more effective model of Knowledge Transfer; a model that is capable of delivering more with less.
Knowledge transfer/exchange, innovation and employer engagement are high on the government's agenda for economic prosperity and quality of life, and are major drivers of institutional strategic change. The JISC Business and Community Engagement programme supports UK institutions in their strategic management of relationships with partners and clients external to the institution in order to deliver benefits to the economy and society.
How can JISC infoNet help you?
JISC infoNet is committed to disseminating material relating to new developments in the sector and their strategic implications to an institution's BCE processes. To this end JISC infoNet has developed a series of infoKits and guidance notes designed to promote good practice in the development of BCE processes. There are also a number of tools that have been developed for institutions to adopt and tailor to their own business needs. Resources can be accessed from the menu to your left and are split into the categories: Community, Cultural and Public Engagement; Employer Engagement; Knowledge Transfer/Exchange; and Lifelong Learning.
