Goals and Objectives

The project has a number of general goals and objectives listed below which relate to the proposed outputs and facilitating greater awareness and understanding of the process across the sector.


Goal: To improve understanding of the Bologna Process within the post compulsory education sector.

Objectives:

  • To promote the competitive advantages of adopting the Bologna Process
  • To help people understand the practical implications of Bologna in their own role
  • To help people understand the implications for learners in their organisations
  • To produce a resource suitable for use across different institution types

Goal: To assist colleges and universities in their preparedness for the EHEA

Objectives:

  • To understand the current position in the sector to inform the work of relevant support organisations
  • To allow institutions to evaluate their own state of readiness and develop an individual action plan
  • To test suggested approaches within the community in a variety of contexts
  • To suggest further work that key agencies can take forward

Goal: To promote collaboration between colleges and universities and the adoption of shared good practice across the sector.

Objectives:

  • To bring together a range of disparate information sources into a step-by-step guide
  • To raise awareness of relevant standards and their uses
  • To build on other work in the sector, e.g. the JISC MLEs for Lifelong Learning programme and work on e-Portfolios, Lifelong Learning etc and bring such work to the attention of a wider audience
  • To facilitate exchanges and sharing of information between practitioners
  • To inspire organisations to improve their support for lifelong learners
