The Link Table

The link table was constructed manually and proved to be a time-consuming process. For every member of staff in the staff table, the entire outputs table was scanned, and for every output identified for the current member of staff, a link record was created.

A large amount of the research at the University is multi-disciplinary. Therefore, not only is there a large degree of internal co-authoring but also outputs can appear in more than one journal. A great deal of care was needed to ensure that any duplicates were correctly managed.

Data Submission

Because Eprints is a subscription service, the development of reports is not under the control of Bournemouth University. As a result, there is not yet a single report that could be used to export all the data required for the pilot in the correct format and so a degree of intermediate processing was necessary for the outputs table.

All three tables were submitted using MS Excel.

Corporate Systems

Bournemouth University has the following corporate systems:

Corporate Application Supplier/System
Human Resources Bond/HR
Finance BluQube
Student Record Capita/Unit-e

If you can read this text, it means you are not experiencing the Plone design at its best. Plone makes heavy use of CSS, which means it is accessible to any internet browser, but the design needs a standards-compliant browser to look like we intended it. Just so you know ;)
