Greening ICT

A further driver for organisational change and improvement is the need for institutions to reduce the environmental impact of their ICT use. Many of the enabling technologies and approaches that relate to flexible service delivery - Cloud computing, Shared services, SOA - can be seen as enabling greener ICT solutions. Baselining and forecasting the cost of ICT and service provision could sensibly be performed in tandem with work to understand and reduce energy consumption.
