Audio Transcript - Transition

Emma talks about e-portfolios as a 'one-stop-shop' to support students in their transition to HE
Undoubtedly when I became a tutor from my experiences as a learner with e-portfolios I wanted my students to have that same opportunity, you know the transition of coming into HE is difficult and I wanted to make it so that they had as many different ways to express themselves or to put their assessment in as possible. I'd experienced a great journey of being a learner using e-portfolio not just for the different ways you can express yourself but the ability for a dialogic approach with your tutor, not just one-way feedback, you've got recursive feedback - you could talk and talk back to it which is something I'd not experienced before this way so I wanted the whole sort of package, it's a bit of a one-stop-shop in terms of the ability to use multimedia, express yourself differently, push the boundaries of academic traditions a little bit in a time at HE when you're quite nervous and really not quite sure so I wanted my students to experience the same thing that I had.
