Embedding Development of Business & Community Engagement

"A key benefit was the JISC team's deliberate engagement of a broad range of constituencies across the University ... In particular, the importance of ensuring all parts of the University are aware of BCE and how it impacts on their activity (be that research, IT support, finance, student support etc) was clearly illustrated."

Peter Hooper, Keele University

The Embedding BCE project ended with partners having identified and prioritised a number of areas for improvement. There was insufficient time for the project to follow the implementation of these, so in 2010/11 a follow-up project - Embedding Development of BCE - gave four of the project partners a chance to come back together to share their experiences.

Each partner hosted a meeting at their institution to showcase their work and discuss common findings. Four new case studies highlight the following topics:

  • The prioritisation and identification of areas for implementation
  • The authorisation process
  • The engagement of stakeholders
  • Barriers
  • Planning for sustainable solutions
  • Impacts / Benefits identified and achieved
  • The future
