partnerships and collaborative projects
As well as disseminating outputs from JISC and other sectoral bodies' programmes and projects, JISC infoNet is engaged in a number of specific collaborations with other organisations and institutions within the sector. This page highlights major projects. The service also engages with a range of experts to ensure resources delivered are relevant to the needs of the sector.
Management Systems for Additional Learner Support
Completed March 2007
A recent analysis from the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) identified that significant differences exist between further education (FE) colleges across England in the amount of additional learning support funding they successfully claim in order to provide support for students with additional learning requirements.
In response the JISC TechDis Service commissioned AoC NILTA, working with JISC Infonet, to carry out case studies at five FE colleges across England, focusing on the systems and processes in place to manage ALS funding claims and provision. Further details on the project and its outputs can be accessed here.
Revision of the JISC HE Business Classification Scheme and Records Retention Schedule
Completed February 2007
JISC and JISC infoNet would like to announce the completion of this project to update and enhance the much valued and used records management tools - the HE Function and Activity Model (now Business Classification Scheme) and Records Retention Schedule, previously known collectively as the Study of the Records Lifecycle.
This has been accomplished thanks to Emmerson Consulting, creators of the previous version released in 2003. All outputs from this project are now available from the project pages.
Collaborative Approaches to the Management of E-Learning (CAMEL)
Phase I Completed September 2006: follow-up phases II and III underway
The CAMEL project was a pilot to explore the development of a Community of Practice amongst e-learning, systems, and learning technology practitioners working on aspects of promoting Lifelong Learning across institutions. Led by JISC infoNet in partnership with JISC, the Association for Learning Technology (ALT) and the Higher Education Academy, the project has dedicated web pages on this site. Outputs from the project are now available to order from our Publications page.
