Abstract

This CD-ROM provides simple and effective tools for managing project.

As the maturity of the project management function within the sector grows we increasingly talk about Project, Programme and Portfolio Management (or P3M for short). The list implies a hierarchy. This is true but it's not simply a question of scale. Each aspect of P3M fulfils a different function and requires a different skill set. Effective management of all 3 is essential if your organisation is to run projects that contribute to achieving your overall Mission.

What is Project Management?

Project Management is a structured, 'lifecycle-based' approach to help you do the right things at the right time in order to meet your project goals. The Project Management infoKit serves as an introduction for new project managers and a refresher for those with more experience. It represents a core of good practice that underpins all of our other resources and it is regularly reviewed to ensure it reflects new tools and techniques to make your job easier.
